- In 2019, Kushal made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe, in the Tri-Nation Series tournament involving Nepal, Singapore, and Zimbabwe.
- In 2020, Kushal made his ODI debut against the USA in a tri-nation series involving Nepal, Oman, and the USA. He scored a match-winning half-century on his debut and made a record of being the youngest person to hit a half-century in ODIs beating the record of Shahid Afridi. This was also the first win of Nepal in Kathmandu.
- Kushan was awarded a central contract by the Cricket Association of Nepal in September 2020.
